Description
At the opening concert of the season, the piano trio Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, Jan-Erik Gustafsson and Mackenzie Melemed will take listeners on a journey through the rich soundscape of the 20th century, featuring the Estonian premiere of Claude Debussy’s poetic and sensorially profound “La Mer” (arranged by Sally Beamish). The music of Tõnu Kõrvits, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Leoš Janáček and Arvo Pärt will also glisten on the surface in different shades.
The geographical intersection of violinist Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, cellist Jan-Erik Gustafsson and pianist Mackenzie Melemedi is located on the shore of the Baltic Sea in Finland, but the spiritual and creative meeting point of these unique performers from different parts of the world is music. Often standing in front of well-known orchestras as soloists, these three renowned musicians will be performing at the Arvo Pärt Centre as part of a trio and duo on this September evening.
