The renowned conductors Neeme Järvi and Kristjan Järvi to start a new series of events called the Järvi Sessions

On 2 October, the creative events series the Järvi Sessions will start at the Arvo Pärt Centre, during which the internationally recognised conductors Neeme and Kristjan Järvi will share their experiences in the field of conducting, creating and management.

The series of events opens with a concert-talk, Music as a Source of Enlightenment, by the conductors maestro Neeme Järvi and Kristjan Järvi, with the string quartet Prezioso. The topics of conversation (in Estonian) are conducting, leading and connecting people, and creating an environment necessary for the manifestation of creative potential. Of course, music is talked about as it is the force and source uniting these topics.

The opening event of the Järvi Sessions series will be broadcast live on stream.arvopart.ee.

Among the musical works, guests will get to enjoy Arvo Pärt’s “Da pacem Domine” for string quartet (2006) and Jaan Rääts’s concerto for chamber orchestra no. 1 op. 16 (arranged by Mihkel Kerem, a student of Rääts’s) and Heino Eller’s “Kodumaine viis”, performed by the string quartet Prezioso: Hanna-Liis Nahkur (violin), Mari-Katrina Suss (violin), Helena Altmanis (viola) and Andreas Lend (cello).

The Järvi Sessions event series was created in cooperation between the conductors Neeme and Kristjan Järvi, the Arvo Pärt Centre and Viimsi Artium, combining professional conducting and management master classes, concerts and inspiring conversations with musicians, composers, researchers, architects and entrepreneurs.

Professional musicians and conductors from Estonia and abroad, as well as music students, are invited to take part in the master courses. Representatives from other areas of life (culture, IT, business and other sectors) are welcome to listen in. The conversations and concerts are open to anyone interested.

The Järvi Session will confine in November at the new Artium Cultural Center in Viimsi Estonia.
