The Arvo Pärt Centre will issue two residency scholarships this year

16.01.2023

For the third year, the Arvo Pärt Centre will award residency scholarships to offer artists the opportunity to dedicate themselves to their work at the Arvo Pärt Centre. This year, one scholarship is intended for a representative of the world of music and the other for a creative person working in another art form. The only application round this year will open on 16 January and the deadline for applications is 31 March. Apply HERE.

The residency at the Arvo Pärt Centre is open to creative people who need a calm and inspiring environment for creative activities and finding new ideas. The duration of the residency is from 1 to 4 weeks, the scholarship covers the resident’s transport costs, accommodation at the nearby LaSpa hotel and also includes a daily allowance.

In addition to a creative workroom at the centre, residents can use the library and, by agreement, other rooms and available musical instruments.

In order to apply for the residency scholarship, applicants must complete the residency application found on the Centre’s website from 16 January. Please read the terms and conditions of the programme here.

The Arvo Pärt Centre opened the residency programme in 2021 and awarded residency scholarships to Austrian composer Annamaria Kowalsky and Belarusian composer Volha Padhajskaya. In 2022 the residency scholarships were awarded to Estonian playwright, stage director and theatre figure Ivar Põllu and Iranian composer and musician Golfam Khayam.

The creative workroom at the Arvo Pärt Centre can also be rented outside the scholarship programme by writing to info@arvopart.ee.
