Description
Creativity seems to have been studied in psychology for a long time, but what do we really know about the process? And what is it that we don’t know yet? One of the surprising things about creativity research is that creative solutions often come to mind when we are daydreaming. Why is it like that? Could this knowledge about psychology and the brain processes help us find creative solutions in everyday life and during the creative process?
Jaan Aru is a brain scientist, psychologist and artificial intelligence researcher. He is an associate professor at the Institute of Computer Science of the University of Tartu, and has received several awards for the popularisation of science and has written the books Ajust ja arust (Brain and Mind) and Loovusest ja logelemisest (Creativity and Daydreaming).
The lecture will be in Estonian.
