Description

Love, pain of loss, hope, the experience of being human – these are the signposts of our lives. Actress Chulpan Khamatova and pianist Andrejs Osokins will bring the works of well-known poets and composers to the audience at the “Dreams about the Piano” concert, which combines music and words. Poetry lines by Boris Pasternak, Osip Mandelstam, Marina Tsvetaeva, Aspazija and others will be heard together with music by Bach, Pärt, Chopin, Vasks, Bartók, Sylvestrov and improvisations by Andrejs Osokins. The premiere took place on 28 May 2022 in Riga as part of the “Osokins Freedom Festival for Ukraine 2022”.

Chulpan Khamatova is a renowned Russian theater and film actress with Tatar roots. Working at Moscow Sovremennik Theater from 1998 to 2022, Khamatova emigrated from Russia with her family at the outbreak of the Ukrainian war. Her new residence became the Republic of Latvia, where she works as an actress at the New Theater in Riga. Chulpan Khamatova is also the founder of the “Gift of Life” foundation supporting children with cancer, and alongside her creative work, this has long been one of her most important projects.
