Description

Professor Peter Bouteneff will give a public lecture “Music as translation: The movement from text to reception in Arvo Pärt’s music.”

Peter Bouteneff, a theologian and musician, is founding director of the Arvo Pärt Project at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Seminary, where he is also professor of Systematic Theology, and director of the Institute of Sacred Arts. He is author of Arvo Pärt: Out of Silence, an exploration of the connections between the composer’s faith and his music.

The lecture is open to all those interested. The lecture will be in English, with simultaneous interpretation into Estonian.
