Arvo Pärt Centre invites applications for its residency scholarships

15.01.2025

The Arvo Pärt Centre announces a call for applications for two residency scholarships, one intended for artists from the music sector and the other for creatives involved in other art forms. The application period is open from 15 January to 15 March. Applications can be submitted here.

Professional creatives and groups active in the creative sector, including ensembles, working groups and collectives of up to four members, are encouraged to apply.

The Arvo Pärt Centre’s Creative Residency provides an inspiring and supportive environment for creative work and the development of new ideas. It also offers additional professional services, including recording facilities, as well as the opportunity to engage with the centre’s programme and explore the works of composer Arvo Pärt. Creatives are welcome to work and practice both in the centre’s facilities and the surrounding natural environment.

The duration of the residency is from 1 to 4 weeks. The scholarship covers transportation, accommodation in the newly established residency house at the centre and a daily allowance.

The Arvo Pärt Centre launched the residency programme in 2021. The recipients of the scholarships so far have been Austrian composer Annamaria Kowalsky; Belarusian composer Olga Podgaiskaya; Estonian playwright, stage director and theatre figure Ivar Põllu; Iranian composer and guitarist Golfam Khayam; Estonian writer and translator Indrek Koff; German composer Sophia Jani; French composer Benoît Sitzia; and Spanish poet Elena Medel.

To apply for the residency, applicants must complete the residency application available from 15 January here. Please read the Terms and Conditions of the programme here.

The creative workroom at the Arvo Pärt Centre can also be rented for use outside of the scholarship programme. If you are interested in doing so, please email us at residency@arvopart.ee.
