The photographer Tõnu Tormis' exhibition on Arvo Pärt will be open at the Tartu Art College gallery Noorus from 22 November until 11 December. Displaying this exhibition from 2005 is possible thanks to collaboration between Tartu Art College, Tõnu Tormis and the Arvo Pärt Centre.

Researching and writing about the composer’s creative process is an important part of the everyday work of the Arvo Pärt Centre. In these photographs, Arvo Pärt talks to Kristina Kõrver – the composer is explaining the story of the birth of "Für Alina".

The concert on 27 October 1976, featuring the première of seven of Arvo Pärt's compositions with a completely new sound, with the general title Tintinnabuli, performed by the ensemble Hortus Musicus, Tallinn Chamber Choir and soloists, had a comprehensive programme booklet. It included Nora Pärt's commentary on Arvo Pärt's new sound, and excerpts from the composer's musical diary.

This year the 27th October marks the 40th anniversary of the concert that introduced the word “tintinnabuli” to the audience for the first time related to Arvo Pärt’s music. The Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn hosted the ensemble Hortus Musicus, the Tallinn Chamber Choir and soloists in a concert where the first half featured Arvo Pärt’s cycle of works. The programme included an explanation of “Tintinnabuli”.

Today, the composer Sofia Gubaidulina is celebrating her 85th birthday. Her bright and profoundly unique creations have left a lasting mark in music history. Sofia Gubaidulina has written symphonic and choral music, as well as many compositions for smaller and sometimes unusual musical ensembles. One of her most renowned compositions is the violin concerto Offertorium

The composer Arvo Pärt and the Arvo Pärt Centre wish to offer their heartfelt congratulations to Gidon Kremer for receiving the renowned Praemium Imperiale prize.

The photographer Tõnu Tormis gave the photographic exhibition “On Pärt” to the Arvo Pärt Centre. The exhibition consists of 30 photographs, mounted behind glass, depicting the composer Arvo Pärt from 1978 to 2005.

A free concert held at the Arvo Pärt Centre on International Music Day. The trio of Katreen Ristmets (violin), Siluan Hirvoja (cello) and Johan-Eerik Kõlar (piano) performed works by Heino Eller and Arvo Pärt.

On 22 September, the town of Paide opened a music garden dedicated to Arvo Pärt to show its appreciation of the composer's contribution to world and Estonian music, and to mark the location of Pärt's childhood home on the corner of Väike-Aia and Kitsas streets.

International Music Day is celebrated on 1 October. The Arvo Pärt Centre is one of the many interesting places people can visit on that day to listen to live music. The free concert held at the centre on International Music Day will be a performance by the trio of Katreen Ristmets (violin), Siluan Hirvoja (cello) and Johan-Eerik Kõlar (piano). The musicians will perform works by Heino Eller and Arvo Pärt.
