St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary awarded diplomas to this years graduates and Arvo Pärt was awarded an Honorary Doctor at the Commencement Exercises Saturday on May 31, 2014

Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste will perform the music of Arvo Pärt in renowned concert halls in Washington DC and New York.

The series of seminars on Arvo Pärt titled "Word and Music" were closed with a concert on 21 May at the hall of University of Tartu.

On 10 May, the Prime Minister of Estonia Taavi Rõivas and Mrs. Luisa Värk visited the Arvo Pärt Centre, along with Paavo Nõgene, chancellor at Ministry of Culture.

At the end of March, the Arvo Pärt Centre welcomed a visit by Doug Maskew, the BBC sound engineer, who lives and works in Scotland and has collected information about Arvo Pärt's music for more than thirty years.

In connection with the upcoming composer's concert series in the USA at the end of May, the Arvo Pärt Centre was visited on 14 March by Dr. Peter C. Bouteneff and Dr. Nicholas Reeves from St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary.

The first stage of the design contest for the Arvo Pärt Centre has finished. 71 applications from around the world were received by the deadline, and 20 participants shall continue in the second stage.

During his visit to Vienna for the performance of Symphony No. 4 at the Musikverein on January 31, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, Arvo and Nora Pärt also paid a visit to the Arnold Schönberg Centre.

In 2014, Arvo Pärt was in focus at Mozart Week between January 24 and February 2. His music was performed at six concerts, and the world premiere of "Swan Song" was presented by the Vienna Philharmonic.
