Karin Rõngelep

Editor, Archive Specialist
karin@arvopart.ee

Karin started working at the Arvo Pärt Centre in 2017. She wished to conduct deeper research in one specific area of music and to blend into the inspirational environment provided by Laulasmaa, with its greenery and its silence.

Karin works as an archive specialist and editor, and her main tasks are to observe the media landscape and archive articles about the composer for future generations. She also conducts interviews with the composer on his creative process, following extensive work with the archival materials. She also helps respond to email queries related to the composer, his work, and performances of his works. Karin appreciates the fact that her work allows her to learn something new every day, not only about Arvo Pärt’s music, but also about the world in general.
Ten years of editorial work at Klassikaraadio, literary editing at the National Opera, and work as an advertising manager for the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra have made her familiar with various facets in Estonian musical life.

Karin has a bachelor’s degree in musicology from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, specialising in teaching theoretical musical subjects, and took a master’s degree in communication management from Tallinn University.

On December 23.12–01.01, the Centre is closed. Merry Christmas and happy new year!
