The Arvo Pärt Centre will open its doors in Laulasmaa on 17 October 2018. This comprises the personal archive of the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt and a creative meeting place for anyone interested in his music and thoughts. Along with the opening of the new building, we will also celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.
Here are the series of events celebrating the opening of the Arvo Pärt Centre during 12th to 17th of October:
On Friday, 12. October
A concert at the Niguliste Church with early music ensemble Graindelavoix performing (with invitations only). Concert will be broadcast at 22.05 on Estonian Classical Radio Klassikaraadio.
Opening concerts on Saturday, 13. October
Three opening concerts (invitations only) at the Arvo Pärt Centre in Laulasmaa. Catch the live broadcast of the event on ETV at 19.25.
Opening Concert of the First Season at Arvo Pärt Centre on Sunday, 14. October
Performers: Anne Akiko Meyers (violin) and Akira Eguchi (piano). Sold out.
Opening day on Wednesday, 17. October
The Arvo Pärt Centre opens its doors at 12 o’clock. Tours and concerts during the day are followed later by a presentation of a new short documentary and a graphic novel based on Arvo Pärt’s life.
Starting from 18th of October, the Centre is opened from Wedensday to Sunday, 12-18 pm.
