The summer season of the Nargenfestival will culminate as always with the Arvo Pärt Days. During 2 – 11 September, these concerts will extend to completely new venues all over Estonia. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra (conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste) will start in Tallinn with a programme that includes a combination of the works of Arvo Pärt and the Baroque grand master J. S. Bach, as well as the latest works by a young Estonian composer, Pärt Uusberg. The same ensembles will also be giving performances at Paide, Rapla, Rakvere and Viljandi. YXUS Ensemble and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will be discovering new concert venues also at schools in the heart of Tallinn.
There will also be concerts by two highly distinguished visiting ensembles. The Goeyvaerts String Trio (Netherlands) and The Tallis Scholars (UK) vocal ensemble are both distinctive musical collectives, who share a quest for a unique sound culture.
