On 27 August, ensemble Vox Clamantis gave a concert in honour of Arvo Pärt at Fondation Beyeler in Switzerland. Among other works, a world premiere of “Drei Hirtenkinder aus Fátima” was performed.
The concert took place at Fondation Beyeler art museum on the occasion of “Gerhard Richter” exhibition. A long-term wish of the German artist Gerhard Richter, one of the world’s greatest living painters, has been to hear Arvo Pärt’s music performed along his paintings, and at the exhibition, Double Grey paintings were dedicated to Arvo Pärt. Besides the world premiere dedicated to Gerhard Richter, Vox Clamantis performed parts from the cycle “Kanon Pokajanen” as well as „Most Holy Mother of God“, „Virgencita“, „And One of the Pharisees“, „Alleluia-Tropus“ and „The Deer’s Cry“.
